The Material

Usually, an automatic spray coating machine is used in eyewear production because it provides better results, is more efficient, and is more environmentally friendly. However, automated painting machines cannot paint all kinds of products. In cases where the color pattern required is complicated, it is best to use manual spray method to achieve the desired results.

Precision Cutting

The Computer Numerical Control machine, widely known as CNC, is an automated equipment for cutting acetate slabs. The machine carves the acetate slabs into the desired shapes for the face and arms of the eyewear.

Moving into the digital system to produce eyewear makes it possible to achieve quality and precision in each product made.

Keeping up with the evolution in the eyewear industry, we revolutionize into a semi-automated line reducing production costs while achieving topmost product customization.  Through automation, productivity increases, the system becomes reliable, and the performance is optimized. Automation makes it possible to simplify the process and form shapes with accurate movements while minimizing waste.

Shape Formation
Injection

Injection molding machines are mainly for the high-volume production of plastic frames because of their high equipment and mold cost.  This method of producing thermoplastics has its advantage in terms of accuracy and productivity.

The process starts with the injection of melted plastic resin into the machine. Pressure is applied in the packing stage to increase the density of the plastic. It is allowed to cool until it solidifies to the desired shape.  Lastly, de-molding the hardened materials from the mold cavities and the plastic molded parts is ready for the next stage in production.

The core of every piece of eyewear is the material used. Eyewear is commonly made using three main materials: acetate, plastic, and metal. Each material possesses unique characteristics and features that set it apart.

Cellulose acetate is a sustainable synthetic fiber material made from cotton plants that can be formed into sheets. It is known for its variant colors, exciting patterns, high transparency, and gloss, adding to the elegant feel of the eyewear.

Plastic eyewear is made from materials like PC, TR90, and ULTEM. These thermoplastic glasses are popular for their lightweight, colorful design, and comfort.

Metal frames offer a classic and professional look and can be adjusted for a perfect fit. Popular materials for metal eyewear include aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium. Titanium is one of the lightest material and great for physical activities.

Automated Painting

Painting of frames happens inside clean rooms, an enclosed space designed to control air particles, like dust, and allows the paint to cohere with the material.

After polishing of frames, we prepare them for painting by placing them on holder racks. The holder racks are put on the automatic machines to start the painting process. After coating the pieces with paint, the frames are transferred to the curing room to completely dry.

Color of Eyewear

The frame is to a manufacturer as a canvas is to a painter. Colors make things vibrant and exciting, thus, the eyewear comes to life after it has been painted and decorated in some cases.

Now, eyewear is not just an object to correct poor eyesight or protect the eyes from harmful UV rays; it is an essential accessory to enhance one's appearance. From the usual black, silver, and gold colors, eyewear has now transformed into trendy and colorful pieces that match the personality and mood of the wearer.

Manual Spray Painting
Mold Fabrication

A mold is a tool used to produce molded objects, like eyewear.

Mold fabrication is a critical aspect of production for many industries. The quality of the mold is directly related to the quality of the final product, making mold fabrication an essential part of the manufacturing process.

The tooling used in mold fabrication varies depending on the size and complexity of the mold. Some molds have few parts, while others are more intricate, with multiple parts assembled precisely.

Once the mold is complete, it undergoes rigorous testing to ensure proper functioning. This includes measuring its dimensions, analyzing its performance, and checking for defects. Upon passing these tests, the mold will be ready for use in the production of eyewear.
